If you want to play Hockey it is essential to have the right hockey skates for maneuverability on the ice but remember that hockey is a game where you hit a puck with the hockey stick, so pay attention to which hockey stick you choose, Twenty or thirty years ago all hockey sticks were made of wood and as a consequence, there wasn't much difference between one hockey stick and the next. Now that most hockey sticks are made out of composites, there is a wide difference between hockey sticks, and as a result, modern hock sticks for both beginners and pros require quite a lot of careful thought.

Here are a few things to consider:
Type of hockey sticks
Hockey sticks are hockey skates, pure and simple is the viewpoint of many beginning players, as well as a few, die-hard pros who choose to use wooden hockey sticks. In general wooden hockey sticks are heavier but cheaper. The next type of hockey stick is a composite hockey stick, made typically of woven fiber and fiberglass blends.
There is also a third type of hockey stick made of two parts, a blade, and a shaft. Generally, the cheap junior style ice hockey sticks are made of either wood or a cheap composite. Most parents pay around $30 for a pair of junior ice skates, and that makes perfect sense. After all, they don't know for sure it's a hobby their kids will continue with.
When a child is absolutely hooked on ice hockey, the price of an intermediate hockey stick will typically be around $80. However, most parents don't wish to spend too much on intermediate hockey sticks for the reason that their children are undergoing growth spurts. Junior hockey sticks are designed typically for those of a height of 4 foot 4 to 5 foot 1 inch. By the time their student reaches a height of 5 feet or more, the chances are you'll need to purchase an intermediate-level hockey stick.
As hockey players get older and play either in the NHL or simply in an amateur adult ice hockey league, it also depends on the ice hockey roles. Defensemen often prefer longer and heavier sticks. This allows defensemen to poke and check their opponents and intercept and clear the puck out easier.
Nondefensive players usually prefer a faster, shorter stick with flex. For these players, one of the most important features are the kick points. A low kick flex point is often preferred by aggressive, forward players, as a low kick point allows players to obtain a quicker release on their shots.
How to choose the right hockey stick
Hockey sticks depend on the flexibility, the height and weight of the player, their position, whether they are left-handed or right-handed, how long they expect the hockey stick to last, and the price. With so many factors, it's better to refer to a buying guide than to try to explain how to choose the right hockey stick for you. This guide goes into depth about how to choose the right hockey stick without pushing any particular brand or stick.
